Informal Education

Informal education refers to various forms of alternative education given outside of a standard school setting such as Unschooling or Homeschooling etc. This education may be gathered from the environment where someone lives, play, work, and grow by the attempts of parents and elders in the family and community.

• Informal education is incidental and spontaneous.
• Learnt in a market place or in a hotel or in one's sitting room amount to informal education.
• Not-pre-planned nor deliberate.
• Not imparted by any specialised such as school or college.
• No prescribed time-table or curriculum.
• May be negative education also. Sometimes children learns misbehaviour from the experiences they have in the street, in the market, in the cinema hall or in some other such place.
