FAQ for FileMan Application

FileMan App FAQ
FileMan App FAQ

  • Why do I need to manipulate files using FileMan?
Many times you require to manipulate file names in bulk, which is manually difficult and time consuming. FileMan helps to do it, because it scans all the files in a folder and does the required manipulation easily.

  • Why do I need to manipulate MP3 file's title?
Many times you require to add the file names of MP3 files into it's title to show the required/proper title when the files are played on players. Most of the time your MP3 file names are properly set/written as per the songs' title, but the MP3 file names are not shown in players. So whenever you arrange your MP3 files, you just need to change the file names, and using FileMan you can set the file titles as same as their file-names easily.
  • Does FileMan scans the sub-folders?
No
  • Does FileMan scans all files whenever changing the title tags?
Yes, but it only processes the MP3 files, without changing anything in the other files. It recognises the MP3 files by their extension .mp3 so be sure about your songs files' extension.
  • Does FileMan takes any backup before changing the files?
No
  • Does FileMan changes all the files without promoting the user?
No, it prompts on every file it processes.
  • Does FileMan supports any personalization in its features?
No, but if you require a personalized version of this program then you may contact us.
  • Where should I place the FileMan .exe file (application) in my computer?
The application file should be placed outside of the folder where the files are kept for manipulation/processing.
  • App can't replace the number of characters I want to remove from my file, it gives an error. How to solve it?
Restart the FileMan App and retry.
  • MP3 file title is added successfully, but I can't find the updated title in the file. What to do?
Close the FileMan once and re-check the MP3 file, it should show the updated title.
  • I can't manipulate the tiles of MP3 Files' title - it shows some error: how to solve it?
Generally this is solved by the App itself, try to run the app as Administrator if the problem persists.
Run as Administrator
Run as Administrator

You may need to register a DLL file if the above solution doesn't work for you. Register the DLL file which is required for MP3 files' manipulation as follows.
If you have registered the cddbcontrol.dll file earlier then check the file is it there in the registered path, or else register it again.
  1. Get the file cddbcontrol.dll, size: 1028 KB from the FileMan application folder.
  2. Place it in your PC somewhere suitable as per your choice (it's better to avoid the paths containing special characters or spaces). Or you can keep the file as it is in the application folder as well.
  3. Go to Start -> Run -> type and execute, for e.g. regsvr32 C:\FileMan_TathyikaDotCom\cddbcontrol.dll (ensure a space between regsvr32 and the file path. Also run the 'Run' utility as Administrator in Windows 7/8)
  4. Try the App again.
