Why Google One? To set the context right and interesting for this answer let me tell you a small story.
It was the year around 2006 to 2009, I started using Google services to manage my life better with the help of smartphones. And it was truly effective. I heavily used services like Gmail, Calendar, Map, and Latitude (now moved into Map as the location sharing feature). In fact, I still use these services to date significantly in my personal life.
Then gradually I started using other useful and valuable services and products as well from Google. One of them I must mention is the Spreadsheet app, named Google Sheets.
These services have been so fascinating to me that from those early days itself I started thinking to pay Google (means to subscribe) for these services and products! The services were proven so valuable to me that having a commercial subscription for those services came willingly in my mind. However, I haven't found such an option at that time as a general user. The said services were free with some upper limits, even today as well.
Now the story of my wish to pay Google 😀 as a general user ends with Goole One. Today I have the option to get a subscription with Google One, and I am a subscriber too.

Google One is enabling us to pay and subscribe the consumer level products and services from Google easily. More or less it is a packaging of products and services from Google. So what is included in it primarily? As of now the cloud storage (i.e. Google Drive) is there in the primary offering under Google One. So from a product perspective, Google Drive is the only product that is the focus of this package.
Next, we should look into the services which are offered in it. But before that one question may be there in general that why only the cloud storage product? Following is my view on this.
If we observe then we see that storage is the primary aspect and the basis of all information technology services. Thus Google One has covered the base service to hold and maintain our valuable data on the cloud. It is focusing on the primary aspect on which everything else depends.

1. Storage Space in Google Drive
Let's see how it looks like when you install the Google One app on your mobile and subscribe to a plan of Google One.
It is very easy to subscribe and monitor the storage space as you can see in the above image. This includes sharing of the storage among family members as well.
2. Data Maintenance Services
The most important service I find is the device/phone backup. This is pretty straightforward and visible in the image below.
3. Extra Photo Editing Features
We use Google Photos however its photo editing capabilities may be unknown to many of us. With a Google One subscription, Google offers additional photo-editing features. As I am not a fan or frequent user of photo editing features so I can't comment much on this more.
4. And Customer Support/Care!
Last but not least: having a paid subscription to any product or service we are eligible for support services and care as usual. Google One is no exception to this. The product is so smooth and almost trouble-free that I had no opportunity to try this service yet. However, Google offers it nicely as follows.
