Google Products and Services for your Businesses and You

If you are using the internet knowingly then it is for sure that you know Google in some way or the other. But it is time to know Google more than that general knowledge for searching the internet and getting direction, etc. This blog will summarise and guide you to all those very valuable Google tools and services for you and your business.

Let's set the objective of knowing the Google tools and services I am going to mention in this blog. I believe that is well managed and organised not only makes a good life but also grow your business, and that is the objective of this blog as well. Now with the help of almost free technology and tools from Google fulfilling this objective has become easy. This blog will help you in adapting these tools in your life and business.

Google Tools I would suggest you explore and why as follows.
  1. Gmail, Contacts, and Calendar
  2. Google Chat, Groups, and Meet
  3. Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.
  4. Google Workspace/Drive/Google One
  5. Google Photos and Keep
  6. Blogger and Sites
  7. Youtube Premium and Music

1. Gmail, Contacts, and Calendar

I find these three tools are the most basic and most important tools for individuals and businesses to explore and use properly. I have written individual blogs for each of these tools as follows. You may read them for more on this.

1st - Gmail will be for your emailing solution. The blog "Useful Gmail Features for Business and Professional Users" may help you to use it better.

2nd - Contacts will be for your contact management solution. The blog "Important Google Contact Features for Business and Professional Users" will guide you to use it efficiently.

3rd - The Calendar will be for your events, meetings, and reminders management solution. The blog "Important Google Calendar Features for Business and Professional Users" may guide you to implement it better.

You may comment below if you need any further help for these tools to understand or implement.

2. Google Chat, Groups, and Meet

These tools are for any instant communication (unorganized interaction) and any other communication needs other than emails. The blog "Chat, Groups, Meet - The Communication Tools from Google" may help you to understand and implement these better.

3. Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.

These tools are very important for office users, students, or anyone who needs to create/draft documents, presentations, and do more serious business with Sheets. The blog "Most Affordable and Useful Office Apps from Google" may help you to understand and implement these better.

4. Google Workspace/Google One/Drive

Google Workspace and Google One are packages of products and services from Google for two different target user groups. If you are running a business with some employees then Workspace is for you. Workspace is to take your business to the next level and make it more organized. If you want to use a custom domain then you can explore and go for a Google Workspace subscription. Otherwise recently Workspace has been made free for all by Google.

On the other hand, Google One subscription will be sufficient for you and the general users who want to make their digital life easy and reliable. The blog "Google One - a way to peaceful life on cloud" will surely help you to understand further and implement it better.

In both cases, you will get additional storage space (beyond the free space) in Google Drive, you can explore that further.

5. Google Photos and Keep

Google Photos app in our mobile is a very useful tool to sync our offline photos and videos to the cloud automatically. The contents can be synced to the cloud as we take them using our mobile phones. This can even be used to edit photos, making albums, sharing them with others. With Google One subscription you will get more features to edit the photos. So my memories in the form of photos and videos are always there with me irrespective of the devices I use. Google Photos can also be useful to minimize our phone memory requirement. We can keep the contents on the cloud without consuming the mobile memory or storage inefficiently.

Similarly, my notes are also with me always on mobile or desktop using the app named Keep. Even I can access my notes offline on mobile which otherwise had to be solved using a physical diary. I can make lists and checklists either manually or automatically with the help of Google Assistant or Google Home. I can easily create documents out of my notes as and when required. So Google Keep seems a great solution for personal notes tool that is also with sharing and collaboration facilities. This is also an alternative solution to Evernote. You may read more about that in my blog "Notebook to Remember Everything".

6. Blogger and Sites

I use Blogger as an open diary to share my experience and knowledge with the world to democratize the skills to make our business and life efficient. So Google Blogger is one of my favourite tools when I want to write blogs/articles or something public to share over the internet.

You can use it in other ways for your business to attract/pull customers/clients/partners. This is a simple to use and free blogging platform from Google. It can be a good start for your business's digital presence to start with, in other words, a way to start digital marketing free of cost.

On the other hand for an advanced digital platform or for a professional website you can explore Google Sites with some basic subscription costs.

7. Youtube Premium and Music

This is my very personal and favourite area of Google products and services. I value my time like any other serious individual, so I hate watching ads and interrupted experiences in my entertainment and learning activities. So here Youtube Premium is a must for anyone with similar thinking and views.

Being an Information Technology (IT) professional I realize the value of digital assets. So I hate piracy of any digital assets like songs etc. I am a songs lover, thus Youtube Music (previously Google Play Music) is a one-stop solution supporting my views and ease of listening to millions of songs anywhere anytime. I must say that Google has made both of the subscriptions (Youtube Premium and Music) very competent in one place.

# A bonus tool for you - Google Dialogflow

As you have come to the end of this blog, so it seems you are a good learner and have the ability to explore new things to make life and business better. So here is a bonus tip for you. I would like to suggest you go exploring Google Dialogflow which is a chatbot development platform. In my opinion, after the culture of personal or business websites, next will be chatbot culture sooner or later in our life itself.

So if you can go a bit deeper into Google technologies, especially Google Cloud Platform (for advanced chat-bots), then I would suggest going for developing a chatbot using Google Dialogflow. Believe me, it will be an interesting experience at a very reasonable cost.

At the extreme of my thinking on this, I even find the chatbots can be developed to replace our simple applications easily. NDRobo is one of my such tries, you can have a look at that.
