In our busy world either we sometimes forget to pay back to the society in which we belong. Sometimes even if we have our best intention, we do not know the way to execute our PSR (Personal Social Responsibility).

A new concept has been launched by a few enthusiastic Sociopreneurs (Entrepreneurs who launch a concept to improve Society) which will help the society in the following ways.

Now we may wonder what is that concept helps society in so many aspects.

The concept is called “Community Driving”.

The concept is aligned with the Global Environment Protection Awareness programme on reducing pollution and saving our planet.

We can execute our PSR and at the same time, we can spend time with friends/associates of like-minded people during our journey without getting into any commitment or social stigma.

Community Driving

This is a new concept of commuting with friends and neighbours whenever we are travelling in the same direction. We are all aware of the term carpooling. But the financial and personal complexities with carpooling was keeping us away from it. In the community driving concept, we can handle all the complexities and social hesitations in sharing our private vehicles in a very simple and efficient way. This concept promotes social responsibilities to reduce pollution, traffic jam, etc. more than sharing the travelling cost. So in a nutshell Community driving helps us to reach our destination on a ride with a Personal touch. At the same time, it helps us to attend our PSR (Personal Social Responsibility) without any obligation as there is also a wilful environmental aspect associated with it.

• Reduce traffic on road by sharing each other's cars on commuting in the same direction.

How community driving works best?

Community driving can work best if we upgrade our thinking, and be concerned about our future generation to give them a less polluted environment. You have to think selflessly to make it work. The principles to be followed for community driving are as follows.

1. Take responsibility to control pollution

• Take it as a social responsibility instead of sharing your fuel or travelling costs.
• Take the responsibility to reduce your Community’s carbon footprint yourself.

2. Sharing the cost in cashless ways

• Let your friend decide the amount or the gift, he or she wants to share for the rides.
• Settle the return (whatever you have mutually decided) as soon as the journey ends.
• Pay for the rides privately with cashless payments or gifts.

3. Make identification easy

• You may use stickers on your car such that the other community travellers can easily identify your car as sharable for community driving.
• You as the car owner or driver share your contact with your co-travellers.

4. Avoid commitments

• Don't engage in any recurring commitment of community driving for any particular route and schedule with the other community travellers.
• It should be as and when basis, and you may pick up your friends if they coincide on your way to your destination.

5. Use technology

• You can use location-sharing apps to easily track the community travellers to commute together from anywhere.
• Apps like WhatsApp, Google Map (Location Sharing), Glympse, etc. are really good in it.

6. Get further help

• You may become a member of the communities promoting this concept.
• You may use professional Apps/services like SRide, Quick Ride, BlaBlaCar, etc. as per your choice.
